Partnering with Lisbon Metropolitan Area, the Municipality of Milan and other selected cities, institutions, and stakeholders, we'll craft an action plan to improve legislation, funding, and knowledge-sharing in food systems.   🍎 Ghent's participation in this partnership will ensure visibility of our city's food-related challenges to higher policy levels. It will lead to legislation that is better aligned with our realities, bring new opportunities for projects and funding, and further expand our knowledge about food policies. 💚 We are so excited to embark on this process! 🌱Knowledge-building on sustainability update🌎 I am happy to share to share that I have participated on behalf of Nestlé México, in collaboration with the Kilimo and WWF México, in a virtual pannel promoted by The Yield Lab LATAM , where we highlighted the crucial role that research and development (R&D) plays in scaling up regenerative ideas. Together with our esteemed colleagues, we shed light on the importance of building a more inclusive value chain that prioritizes sustainability, resilience, and innovation. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, we aim to drive transformative change and create a positive impact on our environment and society. The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg is Partner in the GELATOn the ROAD🍦 project, which officially started on the 1st of April, with the goal of creating the first European Gelato Road aimed at promoting and preserving local cultural heritage and identity. The project wants to support a sustainable cultural tourism model through the European interconnection of artisanal gelato. In order to preserve traditional products and methodologies as well as craftsmanship and know-how about quality gelato making, gelato uses fresh local products and a specific process often detailed in disciplinaries and regulations.   The project involves 12 different EU countries (Italy, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Luxembourg, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria) and 14 European organisations: Longarone Fiere Dolomiti Srl (lead partner), Venetian Cluster, Camera di Commercio Belgo-Italiana, Agrifood Partnerships of the Region of Western Greece, Uniteis e.V., Italian Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Regional Development Agency ROD Ajdovščina, Dignan Ecomuseum, European Training and Research Institut, Cloud Computing Business Association of Catalonia, Rzeszow Regional Development Agency, Chamber of commerce and Industry Vratsa, DomSpain - Educational and Technological Services, and 2 associated partners: Parco Dolomiti Friuliane and Council of Europe - Venice Office.   #GELATOntheRoad #EuropeanRoad #gelato #artisanal #creative #europe #europeanproject

Regardless of the industry you work in, research is a key element in understanding market trends, analyzing the competition and even stimulating creative insights. From an early age, I had the opportunity to enter the job market. One of the positions I held was Marketing Promotion Supervisor at Brahma, a renowned Brazilian brewery. Discovering the history of Birra Menabrea SpA was an enriching experience for me, not only in terms of learning, but also as an opportunity to revisit previous knowledge. The MeBo (Menabrea Botalla) museum, located in Biella, tells the story of the friendship and expansion of two local companies, the second of which specializes in cheese production. The close ties between Franco Thedy and Andrea Bonino, CEOs of Menabrea and Botalla respectively, have resulted in several mutually beneficial partnerships and exchanges of experience. Among these collaborations is the creation of “sbirro” cheese, made from Menabrea beer. The commitment to innovation on the part of these entrepreneurs has allowed them to earn various awards, even at the international level. In addition, our trainer highlighted Menabrea’s positive impact on the local economy, since most of the raw materials come from Piedmont, such as laurel water and hops. In a highly competitive market, where consumer loyalty to their favorite brands is crucial, the ability to innovate and establish strategic partnerships becomes even more relevant. In June, I highlighted mostly the Malaysian aerospace industry (due to our participation in the Paris Airshow 2023). This time, I would like to pay homage to our local F&B industry.   The Malaysian F&B industry is unique. The diverse cultural landscape influenced by various ethnic groups in Malaysia has created a myriad of F&B products that the global community may find interesting. From spices to food ingredients, food paste, and sauces, among many others, we have it all.   Apart from the unique local ingredients and taste, the Malaysian F&B industry is driven by hundreds of thousands of SMEs that are capable manufacturers adopting IR4.0, and more and more manufacturers are now adopting better manufacturing processes to comply with ESG values. In addition, we offer the world's most recognised halal certification, which carries a lot of commercial value while emphasising sustainability and responsibility in the whole supply chain management process.   Mouthful? Indeed. But we do have a very interesting F&B industry. Our industry players have done well in markets such as the Middle East, East Asia, South Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. We hope to further build on these successes in the European Union markets, which, I must say, is tough territory to explore given the rules and regulations imposed. Nonetheless, our industry players are bucking up, and they see the challenges as new opportunities to be more resilient.   To promote our Malaysian F&B capabilities in Europe, I am pleased to share that MATRADE will be spearheading our #MalaysiaPavilion at one of the world's top F&B trade events, Anuga 2023, from October 7th–11th, 2023, which my team will be coordinating.
